Uncovering The Abdominal Muscles

Uncovering The Abdominal Muscles
The abdominal muscles are an area of the body that many people focus on regardless of whether they are athletes or not and there has been much debate over how best to train this muscle group or if it should be trained at all.

In theory you could achieve visible abs simply by nutrition alone which is the route outlined in the book Abs Without Exercise and while this method does work it requires discipline which means that cheating for one meal once per week should be strictly limited to exactly that.

In bodybuilding terms I have always been reluctant to train the abs anyway as the one thing you do not want is to develop what is known as a 'roid gut' where the abdominal muscle has been worked to such an extent that it ends up protruding which can be mistaken for fat and this can spoil an otherwise amazing physique.

In the end if you can uncover your abs by diet and nutrition instead of working them then you are obviously embarking on a healthier lifestyle which will bring about its own benefits and can only help you to achieve success where your other fitness goals are concerned.
